A man has been jailed for stabbing his ex lover in East London after seeing her on Facebook with another man.

The Old Bailey heard how 25 year old Paul Bristol flew four thousand miles from Trinidad to England to challenge Camille Mathurasingh.

She was stabbed 20 times at her home in Bow in east London in April 2009 before he cut himself and crashed her car.

The judge told Bristol he was "clearly eaten up by jealousy" and jailed him for 22 years.

Bristol was caught by police with blood on his face and clothes after they chased him on foot following the crash as he tried to get into a black cab.
