The bike hire scheme will be launched in central London later despite the Mayor admitting there will be teething problems.

So far, over 11,000 people have signed up –over double the amount of bikes available at special docking stations.

Keys have been handed out to Londoners enabling them to unlock bikes the cost of using the cycles varies from £1 for an hour to £50 for 24 hours.
