A drunken bus driver sliced the roof off a double decker bus just moments after dropping 46 pupils off in Slough.

Gurdeep Singh Sagoo from Southall, was almost three times over the drink-drive limit and faces jail for careering into the bridge in Langley on May 12th.

When arrested, he told police he had forgotten he was in a two-tier bus and thought he was driving a single decker.

East Berkshire Magistrates' Court heard the 49 year old had been employed by Southall-based firm Imperial Coaches for five years.

He’s been disqualified from driving until he is sentenced.
