Suspected illegal immigrants arrested in Hayes

31 July 2010

Five Indians have been arrested following a UK Border Agency raid in Hayes.

It comes as part of a major operation by the organisation to crack down on sham marriages, made up visas and fake universities.

Three men and two women were arrested after the raid at a catering company on the Abenglen Industrial Estate on suspicion of being in the UK with expired visas.

The UK border agency says company who employed the Indians now faces a fine of up to £50,000 unless they can prove they did nothing wrong.

They were fined £40,000 for a similar offence a year ago.
