Kismat
Radio News is broadcast from our Southall studios hourly during daytime and
on the half hour from 0630 to 0930 inclusive every weekday.
News and
speech are important elements of Kismat Radio’s output. We have a full time
News Editor and 4 full time journalists. We also offer work experience to
school and college students aspiring to work in media.

are committed to as much live programming as is practicable, and have no
automated programming on the station.

our programming is locally produced and presented by the station.

We cover
the work of a number of charities and causes as part of the programming. The
weekday Lifestyle Show, for instance, addresses various life-related issues
including health, legal rights and consumer rights, and provides a platform
for people from reputed organisations and charities such as Trading
Standards, the British Heart Foundation, the RSPCA, Quit etc. We also raised
money for and actively participated in the recent London Marathon.

Kismat
Radio 1035 AM is representative of the mature Asian community in Greater
London, which is reflected in the mix of its programming in English, Hindi,
Urdu and Punjabi. Through a wide variety of speech-based programmes, we
attempt to provide comprehensive coverage of all matters of relevance to our
target audience.

KISMAT
ASIAN TALK RADIO IS A SPEECH-BASED STATION TARGETED AT OVER-35s IN THE ASIAN
COMMUNITIES AROUND LONDON, ACCOMPANIED BY A MIX OF POPULAR FORMS OF MUSIC
APPEALING TO THE TARGET AUDIENCE.
The Service
is speech-based and will account for over half of programme output during
the daytime, and around a third at other times. Speech will be in English
and encompass Asian languages in a multi-lingual environment to allow
interaction with all groups in the Asian and wider communities.
Speech
output will include: local, national and international news; local traffic,
travel, weather and other practical information; extended features
specifically relevant to Asian listeners; interviews, discussion and
debates; interactive dialogue with listeners through phone-in discussion and
other consultation; involvement with local organisations and community
groups.
Music
output will be a mix of popular forms of Asian music and tracks of
particular appeal to Asians over 35, primarily Ghazals and Qawaalis, Asian
Gold and Hits, Folk Music and Religious Music.
